You know that now, more than ever, college admission is becoming highly competitive and is dependent on many factors, one of which is performance on the PSAT & SAT.  As in previous years, The Highlands School and Kaplan Test Prep are working together to bring Highlands School students the best in PSAT & SAT preparation with an on-campus preparation course.  As a result of this partnership, all Highlands School students will receive:

• $450 discount on a Kaplan PSAT/SAT preparation classroom course held at The Highlands School over the course of the school year (PSAT schedule enclosed). The retail value of this course is $1049, but Highlands School students can take the course for $599! 
• 10% discount on Kaplan One-on-One Private Tutoring packages.     

Kaplan PSAT/SAT Classroom Course
Kaplan has been the leading test preparation provider for more than 70 years, and our classroom program provides students score-raising strategies from an expert teacher in a structured and dynamic setting.  The Kaplan PSAT/SAT course consists of 5 PSAT sessions administered this fall and 12 SAT sessions administered spring of 2010 – 17 sessions total. This program includes 6 full-length proctored exams, 28 hours of classroom instruction as well as a myriad of convenient online practice materials.

Why Kaplan?

• Proven score raising strategies:  On the PSAT and SAT, certain skills are tested more often than others.  By analyzing previously released tests, Kaplan is able to apply a point value to each tested skill on the SAT and show students “where the points are”. These point values are called our SmartPoints™ .
• Realistic practice and personalized feedback:  Students will take 6 full-length proctored exams and will receive Kaplan’s detailed score reports pinpointing strengths and challenges.
• SAT QuizBank: As part of the students’ online resources, they will have access to an interactive question bank that includes over 1,000 SAT practice questions with functionality to create individual tests/quizzes.
• Regular communication with parents:  Our parent email feature provides information for parents about their student’s class attendance, scores, and more.
• The Kaplan Higher Score Guarantee:  If your son or daughter does not feel ready to take the test or is not satisfied with his or her score, no matter how high the increase, he or she can study with us for free for the next test date.  If your student does not score higher, he or she can get a full refund.
