The Highlands School Uniform
The school uniform conforms to the following criteria:
1. Lower School (Grades PK-3rd)

and clips must be the uniform colors (blue, red or white).
Hairstyles should be
moderate. Cuts with spikes, lines, or tails, and braids with beads
or cornrows are not permitted and hair color should be natural looking. |

Jewelry |
No jewelry, except for
the following: one watch; a religious medal; a single pair of dime
size (or smaller) earrings; a discrete, modest ring; and school lapel
pin. |

Hair Criteria |
Hair must be neatly and evenly cut. Hair length must be kept above
the collar line at the back and above the ears on the sides. The
following examples of hair styles are not permitted: buzzes,
lines, spikes, tails, chili bowl, stepped or layered haircuts, frosting,
highlighting, coloring or dying of hair. |

4.
Dress Code at school sponsored events and activities
As mentioned in the
guidelines of Student Conduct above, The Highlands School student behaves with
personal integrity at all times, on campus and off. Students are therefore
expected to dress tastefully and decently not only during the school day but at
all school events, on campus and off.
5.
Spirit Wear for Spirit Days
The following dress code is authorized for Spirit Days:

Shirts must be approved Highlands spirit wear.
·
Jeans, khakis, slacks, and skirts may be worn only with approved spirit wear.
Boys must wear belts. Skirt length must be at least at the knee.
·
Clothing must not be frayed, torn, cut or sloppy.
·
All apparel must fit properly. No clothing that is baggy, over-sized, or
extremely tight fitting is allowed. No midriffs may be showing.

Acceptable footwear includes:

Footwear that is neat and clean
·
Dress shoes, loafers, or tennis shoes
·
No flip flops or sandals
·
The school uniform must be worn if a student does not choose to wear approved
spirit wear.
