First Grade CHallenge

· This challenge is for the students to read as many books as they can.  These books can be any book, on or off  their “reading level”. 

· Many parents are concerned about their child reading books that are below their reading level.  Please don’t worry about this, there are many studies that have been done that show that a child’s fluency increases if they read books that are below their reading level.  These studies also show that the more fluent a child reads, the more the child comprehends. 

·  This challenge will help students increase their fluency and comprehension.
