We are
delighted to have this opportunity to share with you something about
our school community. The school is directed by the
Legionaries of Christ, an international congregation of priests, and
belongs, therefore, to a network of more than 120 schools worldwide.
The mission of The Highlands is to form young men and women who will
be leaders capable of carrying the Gospel into all fields of
society. The hallmark of all Legionary schools is formation of
the whole person. This involves intellectual formation (solid,
challenging academics), human formation (good character habits,
developing all one's talents), spiritual formation (developing a
strong friendship with Christ, formation of the conscience, a deep
sacramental life), and apostolic formation (using one's God-given
talents to serve him by serving our brothers and sisters).
Another aspect of Legionary pedagogy is personalized attention. Deans
of studies and deans of students assist each student with academic and
human formation. We are blessed to have two Legionary priests who
devote themselves full time to the spiritual and sacramental lives of
our students. In addition, regular one-to-one spiritual guidance
is available for students in middle and upper grades.
Integral formation, personal attention, leadership training, an
extensive sports program, community service, and opportunities for
foreign travel: these elements come together to provide our students with
a school experience which will prepare them well for the future.
No written words can capture the spirit of the school. We hope you
will come and take a tour, to see and experience The Highlands spirit. Check
our Open House dates or call for an appointment. We look forward to
meeting your family and showing you around.
