Our College Counseling office works with high school students to prepare for and walk through the college admissions process.  A sampling of our counselor's tasks to assist students and parents include:

  • 9th and 10th grade students meet with our college counselor to understand the importance of grades and what preparation steps they should take in getting ready for the college application process.

  • Each year more than 40 college admissions representatives give presentations to interested 11th and 12th grade students.

  • "Financial Aid 101" information nights are held for parents to learn more about options in paying for college.

  • Meetings are held with parents of 11th and 12th grade students to inform them of what to expect with the college application process.

  • Assistance is provided to 12th grade students to help them with their college applications, resumes and college essays.

  • Our college counselor interprets the results of the PSAT of 9th, 10th and 11th grade students.

  • Forwards on to all colleges transcripts for which students have applied.

  • Shares with parents and students any college scholarship opportunities that The Highlands is aware of.
