Performing Arts is an expression in truth, beauty and goodness.
At The Highlands School, Performing Arts programming spans preschool through twelfth grade. Preschoolers present The Nativity at Christmas to their parents through song, costumes, and drama. Lower school students showcase their gifts and talents in the Christmas and Spring music programs and extracurricular musicals. Middle schoolers can be in choir, select an instrument to learn through the Music Learning Band, and explore their talents in the extracurricular musical. The annual High School Musical allows students to choose their passion among dance, theatre, singing, set design, set building, and stage management.
Talents for the Glory of God
Every THS student has the opportunity to discover, develop, and use their God-given gifts and abilities, regardless of talent, skill or experience. In performing arts, students learn the discipline and focus of independent work, while also collaborating with others in the creative process. Students gain confidence, compassion, patience, and countless life skills that will benefit their future careers, relationships, and communities. More importantly, each THS student understands and embraces that the ultimate purpose of performing arts, is to glorify God.
